Export only updated strings for translation

Hi all,
We an issue with translations, where if we update only a sentence on a page, we are currently only able to export the entire page for translation.
I would like to export only updated content, as this will make it much simpler, quicker and cheaper for us to get translated and reviewed.
Sorry if this is vague - but I am asking on behalf of someone else, and don’t have the version information or any other information on the system.

Solutions I can think of:

  • Put the content folder under version control and then extract the differences
  • Create a content change log using hooks
