I am currently trying to deploy my kirby website with heroku, but can’t make it work. Does anyone have any idea if this is a good practice or not?
Or could someone tell me which platform to use for deployment?

That depends on your use case. Why did you choose Heroku? If you want to edit your content from the Panel, Heroku is not the right choice, because you cannot persist data.
For many use cases, shared hosting is a good and sufficient option.
