Dear community,
We want to let you know about a change in the team behind Kirby. After more than ten years, Sonja is leaving the core team and Content Folder GmbH & Co. KG. This is a decision we have made together and that feels right for everyone.
Sonja has been at the core of the Kirby community for many years. Her documentation introduced you to Kirby’s basics and detailed features. If something did not work out, she helped in the forum, and her Kosmos newsletter was the perfect aggregator for all community and webdev news.
We’ve worked together in an unusual team setup for a long time, and we’ve enjoyed it a lot. We founded our company with the goal to create a free space for us where we can play and have fun, be free but still find the right ways and drive to create a successful company together. Part of that is being honest with each other when things change, and accepting when it is time for a team to change, too.
Over the past year, we talked a lot about how our team and our roles were changing, and where we each wanted to go next. Those conversations led us to the decision we’re sharing with you now. After more than ten years of working together, it’s always sad to say goodbye, but we feel that this is the right step for everyone.
We will always be grateful for Sonja’s work, and especially how she shaped the way people became familiar with Kirby. And we know how many of you have told us over the years how much her help meant, at meetups and elsewhere.
We wish Sonja all the best for whatever comes next for her.
