Loading new version of Kirby but get an error

Hi,

I downloaded the start kit and replaced the old Kirby folder, but my site won’t load. Any ideas?

Did you replace the kirby folder in the Starterkit, or did you take the kirby folder from the downloaded Starterkit and put that into your own project?

If the latter, then what was your old Kirby version?

Did you enable debugging in your config?

I put the Kirby folder from the Starterkit in my set up, but renamed the old version Kirby-old.

I’m not sure what the old version was, but I have had it for more than four years.

I enabled debugging, but couldn’t figure what it was telling me.

But that means you updated from Kirby 2 and that cannot be done by simply changing the folder, updating from Kirby 2 to Kirby 3 requires quite a few changes, see How to upgrade from Kirby 2 | Kirby CMS

Okay. I will look into that. I suppose it makes sense to have a complete overhaul of the site.
