I’m new to Kirby and had a quick question about mobile content management.
Is there currently any official (or community-driven) mobile app that allows managing Kirby content on the go or, alternatively, would it be possible to turn the Kirby Admin Panel into a Progressive Web App (PWA) at the moment?

Welcome to the community 
The panel is responsive and can be used on mobile devices. Just login through a mobile browser and off you go. Was there something more you were after?

I’m currently looking for a solution that allows for easy and frictionless publishing from a mobile device. I initially tried to achieve this with WordPress, but in my specific use case I ran into limitations. e.g., the mobile app does not support posting to custom post types on my WordPress installation.
For my current project, minimizing publishing friction is essential. Most of my short updates would be created directly from my phone, in situations where I don’t want to think about tooling or technical details.
More specifically, I work with two types of content:
Long-form content created and published from a computer (no mobile support required)
Short-form content (e.g. links, videos, quick notes) intended to be published directly from a mobile device
For the short-form content, my main goal is that the mobile publishing experience feels smooth and app-like, similar to using a native iPhone application.
Could you not just add the the panel to the phones home screen like this? I dont have an iPhone so cant see how this actually works in practice.

i think kirby is good for short content from a mobile device.
It all depents on your blueprint of course.
Here are 3 screenshots from a page i currently develop and the users use their phones most of the time.

It’s not direcly app-like but i think it works quit well.

The alternative would be to create a small external PWA that posts to Kirby’s API.
The Panel itself is not available as PWA, and even if it included a manifest.json and icons for the home-screen, it would be merely a cosmetic form of PWA not a full one.
