I'm trying to learn Kirby from the YouTube tutorials, but am already failing with simple fields such as ‘intro’

I have installed the ‘plainkit’ on my Mac together with LaravelHerd (basic version out of the box) and am starting to learn Kirby. However, I am already failing with the video ‘Content folder’ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUPqqrhbcR8): If I create new fields in the code editor according to the video and add text to them, they are not displayed in the browser. Only the ‘title’ field is displayed. It also appears in the source code in the form of a headline labelled with

- but everything else is missing. If I change the content of the ‘title’ field and reload the site in the browser, the changed title is displayed immediately.
Could it be that I have to make certain settings in LaravelHerd?

That video is just about adding content to content files. To output the content on the frontend, you need look into templates, which is the next video. Nothing is rendered on the frontend automatically.

Oh thanks! I’ve figured it out meanwhile. Since templates determine what is output from the content, the sequence of the tutorial videos may be a little misleading for beginners if they - like me - want to follow the whole process like a cooking recipe …
