Disable "autocopy" in multi language

In a multi language enviroment, when added some content in the default language, it’s copied to the other languages if the other languages does not have unique content.

Is it possible to disable that feature? That the other languages stays blank until I edit them?

Why I want to do that is that it’s harder to see if a text is translated if there are texts in all languages. If the other texts are blank it’s very clear what I have not yet translated.

I still want an answer to the above but I just figured out an idea for a field.

How much is translated

In the panel somewhere on the top of the page, add a field that just say:

10/15 (66%) fields translated

To make it more reliable, it can ignore the field types select, checkbox, image etc, that most likely are the same in all language.

This is what we want:

100% translation complete

Perfect! I now follow these repos so I can keep track on what’s going on. More interferece from me then.

The disadvantage of having empty fields is certainly that you don’t even know what you are supposed to translate, so having the fields prefilled with content from the default language really makes sense in most contexts.

You have a point.

  • I miss to translate some content because it’s text everywhere.
  • Some fields need to be blank and they can’t be, but soon they can be.

I like how it is now about 40% so I’m not against it completely.

I would prefer a button right of every field that says:

Replace field content with content from default language

Long button, I know…

You probably hold the record in topic creation anyway :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yaaay! You probably have the record in answering them, together with Lukas.

I just got a new medal: https://forum.getkirby.com/badges/36/appreciated. Very proud!
