Are panel "widgets" possible in Kirby 3?

Is it possible to have widgets in the Kirby 3 panel as we had in Kirby 2? E.g. the “Your latest updates” widget?

That is possible via custom sections.

The docs state we have 4 types of sections:

  • fields
  • files
  • info
  • pages
