Writer: Smartypants, Tabels & other goodies?

Hi!

Today I’ve tried the writer-field for the first time.
That’s a lot easier for editors compared to Markdown, but - as I found out - has some downsides. But maybe I missed something.

  1. Is it not making use of Smartypants for better typography?
  2. Is there no way to use tables like in Markdown Extras?

Are there plans to integrate those features?

Thanks a lot!
Dennis

No, you can’t use tables in writer. You could use the blocks field with a table block. It’s not the purpose of the writer field to support all kind of stuff that you can do in Markdown/Kirbytext, just doesn’t make sense, I think

Hi Sonja!

Thank you for your answer. I‘ve thought, that Writer is kind of an add-on to Markdown / Kirbytext. As I‘ve said - it has been my first try.

Next on my learningpath will be Blocks / Layout. :upside_down_face:

No, the writer/list fields are actually sort of a side products of the blocks field.
