White pages when trying to update from 2.0.5 to 2.3.1

I copied the panel and kirby folders from the latest version to the installation, but I only got white pages, even with debug enabled. How can I solve this?

Is there anything in your PHP error log?

I’m sorry. I don’t have access to PHP error logs on this machine. Is there a way to test things with FTP only?

Can you test in a local server environment instead?

Thanks for your time! Got it running. Default PHP version was 5.3: changed it to 5.5 using .htaccess
