Mystery of the re-appearing folder

,

A couple of years ago, I changed my ‘Troika’ folder from Unlisted to Listed, and ever since, the folder for an old draft post keeps reappearing:

Essentially the parent folder’s name has only changed from ‘troika’ to ‘4_troika’. As you can see, the old unlisted troika folder has been restored, with an empty draft post folder inside. Every time I notice it, I delete it, but it does reappear - possibly after using the panel, although there’s no trace of it in there. Nor is there any reference to that old draft post anywhere (the final post had a different name: Troika #38: The Besnard Lakes are… - Hicks.design)

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? It’s not a big issue, but after all this time I’d love to get to the bottom of it! This issue from 2017 is similar, but not quite the same.

When I experienced such “ghost folders” it was because of external syncing with stuff like Dropbox. Just an idea, maybe you have something similar set up?

Thanks @thguenther - no I keep my site folders outside of Dropbox and iCloud syncing.

Does this only happen locally on your Mac, or (also) on the server?

If it happens on your Mac, I’d try to force delete it from the trash.

Maybe it has something to do with this?

Are you kidding?

Why should I do so? I just want to help. If it is an unusual behavior, you should check possible causes comprehensively. It could be that his installation is connected to GitHub - the name it contains would at least indicate this.

GitHub pages only supports static sites, so Kirby cannot run on it.

And sorry, didn’t want to offend you.

This is all happening locally on my Mac - thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try that next time it reappears! I hadn’t considered it could be happening at the OS level.
