My Sites's not working. Help?

I recently launched my site on my live server, or so I thought.
As soon as I put up the Kirby site on my server, I’m getting a “This page isn’t working” error.

The site is: http://creatix.io/

Whats the proper way to make your site live?

Turn on debugging in your config or check your server php error logs.

Its already on. Getting a blank screen. How do I check php error logs?

There should be a logs folder somewhere on your server, if it is provided by your hosting provider. Also check the Apache error log.

Other than that, have you checked your PHP version?

Edit: BTW, please disable directory listing on your server.

I found the logs folder. What errors should I be looking for? (I’ve attached it)

Also, how do I disable directory listing on my server?

There is no file attached.

As regards the directory listings, check out the docs: https://getkirby.com/docs/developer-guide/security#prevent-directory-listings

If you have access to your server config, you can also configure it there instead of in the .htaccess.

Thanks for the directory listings. That was easy to do.

Its not letting me attach that file type. Where can I email it to you?

You can email me at sonja@getkirby.com

It seems your server is running on an old PHP version, 5.3.

Edit: BTW, the HTTP response header gives away information about the PHP version (X-powered-by). You should prevent that as well.

How would I do that?

Also, should I use a different host?

I upgraded the php to version 7, and its live now: http://creatix.io/
but its being VERY laggy, and none of the other pages are working.

If the subpages don’t work, you will have to set the RewriteBase, provides that mod_rewrite is enabled.

Rewrite it to what?

Here’s what my htaccess currently looks like:

Ehem, what have you done with the original content of the .htaccess file that comes with Kirby? You can’t just delete that and then expect Kirby to work? Have you read the documentation?

https://getkirby.com/docs/developer-guide/troubleshooting/installation

@AdamRasheed, I was wondering, given your troubles: did your site work locally? Were you testing with Apache locally, perhaps using something like WAMP, MAMP or similar? If yes, did the page URLs work properly with the modified (well, replaced) .htaccess?

You can get issues when deploying to a different environment (like the PHP version issue you had, and there can be other issues), but the first step is to make sure everything runs smoothly locally.

Everything was working great locally. I was so excited to launch haha

Have you been able to update your PHP version and have you added the original .htaccess again?

OH GOODNESS. This is probably the most silly mistake I’ve made this year (so far).
I didn’t have ‘show hidden files’ turned on in my FTP software and it didn’t replace the .htaccess file for my old site.

Over the weekend, I want to migrate it to digitalocean, that should be fun :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks soo much for the help with this btw!
