Launched a site I built for British Photographer, Levon Biss. He has exhibited all over the world, and even done TedTalks so this was an interesting one to work on.
Something of a challenge due to the high number of images and few technical mountains to climb, I’m pretty pleased with the outcome.
I’m thrilled to share with you the latest creation of Studio Fables.
It’s probably the biggest Kirby website we’ve designed yet (bilingual, huge database, Shopify).
In a few words, Pli Editions is a multidisciplinary team which accompanies and publishes the new generation of architects and designers by enhancing researches through different materials and actions like workshops, exhibitions, reviews…
It wouldn’t have been possible without support from this community (I’m looking at you @texnixe).
The experience was smooth, even with my countless blunders, and I can’t imagine using another CMS for a site like this. All-in, including server & deployment setup / front-end / Kirby panel wiring & content, the project took me just over 3 weeks.
With what I’ve learned during this effort, I’m fairly confident I could do the same in about half the time. Kirby is amazing.
Thanks for the amazing product, and thank you to the community at large for all the help and encouragement. I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of me in the future.
Website for tennis club http://tennisandmore.lt. Previously was on Drupal. My experience of building this site was really smooth. There are some nice features, for example registration to events, editor gets notifications and confirms participants, also can display them in a table near each event. While we were working on this project, client asked for different changes, like showing not all, but certain coaches on certain pages, or adding new fields to participants form. And all that was easy to add, which would be quite a hassle with Drupal or WP.
Also client started using website without any instructions, I only had to explain few concepts, how things work.
It’s been a while since I had the privilege of building a site in Kirby. I had a good time putting this one together. It’s for a company here in Atlanta with innovative solutions for healthcare. https://rimidi.com/
I’m delighted to share with you today the latest website designed and coded by Studio Fables.
Our client was a french children’s books publisher with a high quality catalog called Sarbacane Editions. The mission was to make the design and navigation as clear as possible, so everyone could discover their albums, novels and comics.
The website have some nice features like:
• Asynchronous loading of images and pages
• Auto extracted cover colors
• Lightspeed sorting and filtering (most popular tags, series, collections…)
• Custom search for single words, full book title, ISBNs…
• Smart related articles
• User accounts dedicated to journalists, booksellers and librarians to unlock more content
• Microdatas for Google to display nice page results
The project would not have been possible without the help from the Kirby community, so THANKS to all of you (Sonja, if you’re reading this )
