Kirby & Subdomains

Hi,

I have a project where there is a website for an umbrella organisation (https://organisation.com), and then several subdomains used for different strands of the business (e.g. https://something.organisation.com, https://another.organisation.com). These are fully formed sites in their own right, with multiple levels of content.

To transfer this over to Kirby, would it be better to have separate installs for each subdomain (and another for the umbrella), or could the whole setup be run from a single install? I am thinking a single install might be simpler from the admin point of view, but not sure if (a) it will make the setup overly complicated with routing etc., or (b) it would actually go against the licensing model as these are large, fully-formed sites on the subdomains.

Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated

No matter if you have one installation from which you feed multiple websites, or if you have multiple installations, you would still need a license per domain, as set out in our license terms.

I’d probably go for a multisite setup in which you share certain parts between sites, but separate other stuff: Multisite configuration | Kirby CMS
