I would love to be able to build custom menus (with submenus) on a single page, similar to the subpages index view, but with sortable (drag n drop) menu nesting.
Currently I am achieving custom menus by a navbar page with subpages, but its really a hack.

I am afraid I either did not get what you want to do – or rather what is keeping you from creating this. Could you elaborate?
Sound a bit like the way menus are built in Wordpress?

I came up with a better solution using a structured field, which items are draggable.
Although this only supports one tier of subpages by using yaml in a textarea inside each item.
This is great for now.
