Any recommendations for lossless image optimisation in Kirby?

As a photographer, I optimise the images when exporting: RBG, at 69% quality and then I run them through some specific application such as: Optimage, JPEGMini, ImageOptim, etc.

Personally I have not achieved satisfactory results with the new formats, WebP and even less with AVIF, so I continue working with JPEG.

However, I am not clear on how Kirby handles image optimisation:

  1. Does it optimise the images natively or is some plugin necessary for optimisation?
  2. What is more recommendable, to upload the images already optimised or to have Kirby do that?
  3. Which plugin do you recommend for the optimisation of the images without loss of quality in Kirby?
  4. At what maximum size is it advisable to upload the images? I understand that the smallest versions are generated automatically by Kirby, isn’t it?

And last but not least, has anyone gone through these dilemmas and opted to use a CDN with image optimisation? :upside_down_face:

Any comment or suggestion will be welcome.
