Adding meta data for image through the panel

Hi,
According to the Kirby Support, meta data can be added to image file with a file named {image filename}.txt.
I would like to add caption, alt and other data to image files through the panel (in addition or instead to create the file.jpg.txt manually and directly in the associated folder).
Is there a way to do so meaning filling the data through the panel with associated fields and using it in the template?
Accordingly is the file.jpg.txt (with meta data) automatically created in the associated folder ?
