Superscript, subscript, in general

What would be a good way to allow users to include super and subscript text in no particular field, any of them ?

I am aware of the petition to add it to the writer field, but I imagine this is something that someone has needed at some point, and I wonder what solutions are there for it.

Depending on the tech literacy of the users, letting them literally write <sup>TM</sup> and <sub>1</sub> might be the most straight forward.

Otherwise a custom kirbytag: (sup: TM)

If you use the Markdown field, you can add custom buttons.
