I’m launching a Kirby 2 website I made a year ago. I’d made a bunch of changes to the website directly to the server that were no longer on my local version, so I just downloaded the website from the server.
However, I’m now having this issue where MAMP will not serve the website and instead just downloads the index.php. I’ve read it has to do with the htaccess file but I’m not sure what to change about it.

Hello, sorry to revive this thread but I’m having the same problem but don’t see the <IfModule mime_module> in my .htaccess file. Any idea what it could be? Here’s the content of the file, thanks in advance!

Thanks @texnixe, it’s not a new site, picking up where someone left off a couple of years ago. I removed the first line but it’s still downloading the file. I’m not super familiar with Kirby though.
Maybe I should start from scratch.

I am having the same issue. When I enter the site index.php is being downloaded. I compared the .htaccess file with the one from a Kirby fresh downloaded version and they are identical. Any idea of what might be causing this behavior? Thank you!
