Link field: Sort, search & filter page list

I would like to use the link field to be able to set a link to a subpage through the page option. However, there are hundreds of subpages and I need an option to either search or at least sort the page list (alphabetically or ideally by a field name, such as a “Surname” field).

Right now they are sorted by order of creation (= number in the content folder). I also notice that the result list includes draft pages. It would be good to filter for only listed pages.

This is my code so far:

This is currently not supported, however, if all you want is a link to a page, you might as well use a pages field, which has a search option.

You are absolutely right, this would be the easiest solution in my case :slight_smile: Shiny object syndrome – wanted to use the new link field!

Still, I think this would be a helpful feature if for example there were to be multiple link options. Would be nice to be able to manage/navigate the result list somehow.

I think there are already feature requests on feedback.getkirby.com, because, yes, you are absolutely right, this is needed.
