Features

It’s similar to the structure field style: table, but it uses inline editing (modal free). It means that you can edit wherever you want and easily copy/paste between the subfields. Still it’s completely compatible with the structure field in how it saves the data to the content text file.

I’ve successfully managed to use many of the already built in fields. It even works with plugin fields.

Pitfalls

  • Form validation does not work, because the whole table is a field value.
  • Some built in fields throws a PHP error (like the image field). Will be solved
  • Currently I use the default value to force a value to the field which is not optimal and does not work with all fields. Hopefully solvable
  • Javascript driven fields does not work when I dynamically add new rows. Hopefully solvable

Now, 2 weeks later this field has changed so much that it’s no longer the same. It’s now called Engineer Field: Engineer Field v0.8 and v0.9 🎉
