Hello Friends
I’ve tried my share of CMS systems and web approaches over the years, often finding myself and my team hunting technical issues to get sites and pages to load consistently well. Of course, I’ve learned to take a more preemptive approach, but it seems like there’s always something.
This is our first Kirby site. Crisp, clean, and just stupid fast. No CDN, no tricks, a server with average specs. Just fast. First pass through Google Pagespeed was fair, in the 80s. After optimizing a couple of images (we used squoosh.app), adding fetchpriority=“high” to a homepage image, and switching fonts to self-hosted, the scores went through the roof.
I’ve never had —and rarely have observed— loading metrics this high on a site. GTmetrix and Pagespeed love this site with greenlights all the way. Impressive. This might not be new to you all; I’m exceptionally impressed.
