I uploaded a plugins folder and it took my website down :)

So uploading a /plugins/plugin-name in the /site folder does this?

This is very little information, what plugin? Which plugin version and Kirby version? Have you made sure the plugin is compatible with your Kirby version?

My site is on K 4.5.0

I downloaded a number of free plugins, unzip them, put them in a site/plugings/individual-plugin-folder and uploaded them to my server.

Since the website crashed, I deleted most of them EXCEPT SEO | Kirby CMS Plugins

That didn’t help, so ended up removing the SEO plugin from the server.

I tried again.

  1. Created a /plugins subfolder under /site
  2. Created a /seo subfolder under /plugins
  3. Downloaded the plugin, unzipped it, and uploaded the content to site/plugins/seo as instructed on this page SEO | Kirby CMS Plugins

And worked it now?

Wait, did you put the unzipped folder into site/plugins/seo? Or just the contents of the unzipped folder.

The best is always to put the complete unzipped folders into /site/plugins, without creating new folders.

Thank you! This didn’t crush the site.

imo, the instructions are not clear enough. It shouldn’t say " uploaded the content to site/plugins/seo" but " uploaded the content to site/plugins/ or site/plugins/tobimori-kirby-seo-e84782f

btw, how can I interact with the plugins? I don’t see any clue in the Panel. Thanks again!

Not sure what you mean? Depends on the plugin. For example, for the SEO plugins, you probably need to add something to your blueprints, not sure, haven’t used the plugin. Please read the docs carefully.
