Custom Block Markdown Preview

I created a custom block with two fields. It works well so far except for the preview. It shows *asterisks*. I want the preview to show italics too. How can I achieve this?

Do I need the Structure: Textarea Preview plugin or is there a more simple way to achieve this?

I changed Text and Textarea Fields to Writer Fields. Now, the preview works well as well as inline editing.
