While defining a preset of colors to pick from it would be great to have more control. Currently only simple color-codes are accepted. Since the swatches are defined via background color it should be possible to allow for more complex swatches, right? I would i.e. like to use linear-gradient etc since i use the swatches to define more complex background-settings than just a simple color…

Or am i missing something?

Hi and welcome to the Kirby forum. Since this is a feature request, the right channel would be https://feedback.getkirby.com.

But IMO, this does not make sense. The purpose of the color picker is to select colors. A gradient is not a color, you need at least two colors and a gradient type to define a gradient.

I’d create a custom field particularly for this purpose.
