4.6.0-rc.1 & 5.0.0-beta.2

We have a big pre-release day today:

Kirby 4.6.0-rc.1

We plan to release 4.6.0 next week and the first release candidate is now out there. This is a bug fix and housekeeping release:

Kirby 5.0.0-beta.2

The beta for Kirby 5 continues and while there are still some open tasks left for the final release, we are getting closer and closer. You also provided some really useful first feedback and bug reports and we try to turn that into enhancements and fixes before the final release, whenever possible, so please keep testing and reporting :slightly_smiling_face:

Quick tip for all CLI users. You can upgrade to the latest beta like this:
kirby install 5.0.0-beta.2
and quickly roll back again with
kirby install

We are also seeing more and more plugins that have been tested for v5 support, which is absolutely awesome  You can see the list of already tested and compatible plugins here: https://plugins.getkirby.com/supports/5

Thank you to all plugin devs for their help. We are certain that the list is actually much longer. Most plugins should run out of the box on v5, but of course we can’t simply assume that and mark all as compatible without testing. Plugin devs can help us out by adding a “kirby5” tag to their Github repo once they gave it a try. The plugin directory will pick this up and add your plugin to the list.

Plugin Office Hour: Today at 5pm CET

This is also a great segue to today’s first plugin office hour :slightly_smiling_face: If you have additional questions about v5 compatibility for your plugins, make sure to join us on Discord: https://discord.com/events/525634039965679616/1329388615179960342
