Synchronization of multi-lingual content

I have a multilanguage setup. If I add new field content, it does not appear in the other language. I have to create it again. Is there a way to create field content for all languages at the same time and modify or translate it later?

Theoretically, you can do that, but I somehow doubt that it makes sense to store the default language content in all languages.

Kirby usually prefills the fields in the non-default languages with the content of the default language (as long as nothing is stored in the non-default languages) for easy translation.

Dear @pixelijn and @bastianallgeier, I guess I discovered a bug or software deficiency:

I have a bilingual site. In the default language - German - I enter data in a field. I switch to English and see the same content there. I switch to the German page and change the page title, enter new content, switch to the English page and see the same content there. I change the English page title, switch to the German page, enter new content, switch to the English page and see no new content there. I enter the original German page title on the English page, switch to the German page, enter new content, switch to the English page and see no new content there.

Conclusion: The one-time change of the page title permanently removes the synchronization of the multilingual content!

This is a problem when I have a page that needs to be continually added to – like a resume, for example. Do you have any idea how I can fix this problem?

This is not a bug but the expected behavior. The preview of the default content only works if the page is not translated yet (as I already wrote above).

I know but is there a way to fix this problem? I mean, it is a serious disadvantage for the user if she or he has to make at least duplicate entries every time.

How is the system to know if you just changed a typo or something significant? And no, there is no way to “fix” this.

The best way to fix this is to stick to a workflow that works for you, for example, translate the stuff when it is ready to be translated.

This is difficult when I have a page that needs to be continuously changed by new entries. Anyway, that will not please my client so much.
