Italics not working - in any typeface

For some reason I can’t make italics show on my site. I thought it was a problem with using google font but even when that is disabled emphasised text doesn’t emphasise!

Anyone have any ideas

my basic website is here

starterkit font is verper libre. the startekit css overrides i, em in line 203 to font-style:normal.

btw the font you used does not have italics either (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Fjalla+One).

thanks, I missed that, don’t need i for Fjalla, but Roboto is my main font and that does have i.
