Is it possible to route content like pages?

I have noticed attachments are routed directly to their files instead of like pages revealing the internal structure of the CMS.

I read on another thread that this was being worked on but can’t find any news on this since.

Is it possible to route them differently so they behave consistently like pages?.

You can achieve that via a custom file method, however only if you pull images in your templates, not when adding files in textarea fields.
