Imagex Plugin: Ratio option - Cropping only when focus-point is set?

Hi there,
the Imagex plugin is cool, but I have a problem when I use the ratio option.
The cropping of the srcset-images seems to work only on images where the focus point is set.
Is this the correct behavior? or is this a bug? Or am I doing something wrong?
Or is it possible to set the focus point automatically on 50% 50% on uploading?
