Once a Date field has content, there doesn’t seem to be a way to clear the field and make it blank again. Am I missing something?
Yes, it’s possible to clear the date field. Unless you have required it.
Ah. I see now 
Might be useful to make Backspace/Delete keys have the same effect. Or an [x] button that appears when you’re focused in the field.
