Allow manual sorting of pages field only in one lang, possible?

In a pages field, Is it possible to allow manual sorting ONLY for one of three languages, for example?

So that secondary languages stay always in sync with main lang, even if someone by accident sorted the pages in a secondary language (in which moment I believe the sync is lost, as a txt file is created)

Is there a reason not to set the field to translate: false?

No, and of course that switches sorting off in secondary languages
