Where to put this long countries array to access it globally?

I got a looong countries array that I use to create a countries dropdown for forms.

I’d prefer not to put it in the config or my site controller, if possible, to keep them clean.

What options do I have ?

inside your config file…

c::set('country', array(.............));

call it anywhere with c::get('country')

Thank you @carstengrimm, but I specifically asked for alternatives to config or a controller.

Perhaps registering as a sort of a plugin ? ( very low plugin knowledge here yet )

You could return it from a function in a plugin file.

Why not? Another option would be to set the option in a plugin like this:

kirby()->set('option', 'countries', array('Afghanistan', 'Albania', 'France'));

And get it in your template/controller/snippet like this:

dump(kirby()->get('option', 'countries'));

Another way is just require a file at the top of your templates:

<?php require_once 'site/snippets/yourglobalstuff.php'; ?>

Throw your array in there and you can get at it in your templates.
