I would like to for Kirby to get the information for a URL. Like you see on facebook when you put a url in a comment or in a conversation. Where it returns information about that url? Has anybody done this or have any idea how to do this?

Can you add a screenshot? I don’t understand what Facebook is doing that you want to do.
You mean so called “Rich Previews”. Here is a starting point that uses a REST Api. I guess you find more information if you google that keyword.
