Remove default template option - and make it mandatory

Hello!

this is my home.yml:

title: Home

sections:
  projects: 
    template: 
      - performance
      - publication
      - workshop
    type: pages

when I try to create a new page it sets the “performance” option as default.
I wish to remove the default option (‘performance’ in this case) so that the user will have to choose a template.
Is it possible?

You mean an empty option with no value? That’s not possible, as far as I can tell.
