# Duplicating pages not generating new UUIDs for subpages

Hi,

I have a client who is duplicating a page with several subpages. When they do this through the panel (by clicking on the 3 dot menu in a pages section and selecting “duplicate”), the duplicate page with its subpages is created.

However, while the new page has a new UUID, the subpages do not, they have the same UUID as the original subpages. This is then causing issues when the client is creating links using a pages field.

I have reproduced this locally, and have updated to the latest version of Kirby but am still seeing the issue.

This perhaps should be a bug report, but I just wanted to sense check and see if anyone else has hit the same problem.

I haven’t tested this yet, but please create a bug report.
