I duplicated an existing Page, that I want to delete now
But when I change one of the projects in the portfolio published selection (either in the test page or the original page), the file changes in both pages. Now I don’t want to delete every project, when deleting the test page with the containing elements. (see image)
Will they be deleted in the original page too or is there a safe solution?
I think the problem here is that your section blueprint or the section definition in the page blueprint references a specific parent. So the subpages you see in this test page are not really the duplicated subpages (if you copied the subpages as well), but the subpages of the original page. You can verify this if you click on the link to such a project and observe the url in the browser address bar which will likely point to the original page as parent.
Deleting the duplicated page will not however not delete the subpages of the original page.
It doesn’t really make sense to allow duplicating pages that reference a specific parent in their blueprint.
