Automatic Language Detection

Hi,

Is there a reason why language.detect only works on the startpage (http://example.com/) and not on any other pages (http://example.com/page1)?

I would like to have automatic language detection on the first visit of any page. For example I link within my application to the support section of my website.

Language detection does not work on subpages because otherwise the user wouldn’t be able to switch languages anymore.

Isn’t this done via cookie? Or would it be possible to do it with a cookie?

Yes, it’s stored in the session.
