# API Basic Auth slow?

Hi, I’ve tested the new API with Auth Basic Authorization.  
I think it’s a bit slow. I’ve response times between 300-600ms. Test environment was on localhost only.  
I tried to get data from a simple page by PHP curl.  
Can someone confirm this?

Hey there, did you ever figure out the cause of this?

I’m having a similar issue using [kirby-vue-starterkit](https://github.com/jmedveckyh/kirby-vue-starterkit) which uses basic auth to access the API. I’m getting response times of ~320ms for a JSON object about 4kb.
