Always show the search field/filter in the panel open

I use the search field/filter very frequently, as I have two parent pages with 100 to 500 child pages. The goal is to have the search field permanently visible, instead of having to click a button first. Since I’m not very familiar with customizing panel elements using JavaScript, I’m asking this question here in the forum.
