Kirby 4.9.5 creates a massive amount of 500 errors in the server error log. It is advised to delete the media folder after each update, yet the images in the media folder are often still requested, mostly by those scraping bots we all suffer from these days. Because these images no longer exist at that url, the server responds with a 404. But immediately after, Kirby adds a 500 error ‘thumbnail configuration could not be found’ to the logs. This only happens after a 404.

Both the site and the images are getting heavily scraped, this is an ongoing battle atm and Kirby is filling up the logs with these incorrect 500 errors.

Not experienced this personally but i can see why it might happen. The server is just logging things it cant do for whatever reason.

Hopefully the team will chime on this but for now you can maybe try to mitigate the bot scraping via robots.txt … something like this maybe
